Joseph R. Weiland, CFP
Joseph R. Weiland, CFP® is the Chief Executive Officer of the Santa Barbara Trust Company. Joe was a founder and served as the first managing partner of Arlington Financial Advisors. He began his career as a financial advisor in 1988 and has spent the last 3 decades advising both high net worth individuals and business owners. Mr. Weiland’s clients consider him to be more than a financial expert. His position as a confidant to successful high net worth individuals has given him the ability to offer perspective and advice beyond the numbers. Whether the client is a working through a new partnership agreement, financing a business purchase or it is a couple navigating a divorce, his experience has helped avoid mistakes that can cause troubles years into the future.
A graduate of University of Wisconsin, Joe holds the Certified Financial Planner® designation. Joe is dedicated to continuing education, attending numerous conferences and educational seminars each year. In addition to his client relationship responsibilities, he is responsible for developing best practices to employ to assure our clients are achieving their goals.
As past President he currently serves on the board and is treasurer of the Land Trust of Santa Barbara County. Additionally, he is also an active member and past President of the Sunrise Rotary Club. Joe is an avid surfer and hiker. He lives in Santa Barbara with his wife Vibeke. His Children, Evy and Tor have both grown and moved out of the home. Tor lives in Bellingham WA and Evy is living and working San Diego.
